Massachusetts Teachers Association Information Meetings on Expanded Learning Time
Establishing an agreement between the district and the local teacher’s union is a critical step in the planning process for the Expanded Learning Time initiative.  Massachusetts 2020 works to support districts and unions in forging strong partnerships around ELT.  In October 2007, the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) is hosting a series of informational meetings about Expanded Learning Time (ELT) for union leaders in districts planning to implement ELT starting in fall 2008.  The MTA has invited Massachusetts 2020 to present background information on ELT and answer questions from participants.  The MTA will host these meetings in their MTA Regional Offices on the following dates:

10/2/07 for Southeastern Massachusetts, at MTA Regional Office in Raynham
10/3/07 for Central Massachusetts, at MTA Regional Office in Auburn
10/9/07 for Western Massachusetts, at MTA Regional Office in Holyoke
10/11/07 for Northeast Massachusetts, at MTA Regional Office in Lynnfield
10/15/07 for Berkshire Region, at MTA Regional Office in Pittsfield
