Expanded Learning Time Longitudinal Evaluation

In 2006, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) contracted with Abt Associates of Cambridge, Massachusetts to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the ELT initiative. Originally funded through private grants secured by Mass 2020, the evaluation now is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The evaluation will study the first six years of ELT implementation and represents the largest evaluation currently undertaken by ESE.

The evaluation looks at both implementation and outcomes and, unlike most educational evaluations, methodically examines how outcomes are connected to the many implementation variables
