From 2004 to 2006, Roy taught 7th and 8th grade Math, Social Studies, and Science in Philadelphia as a Teach for America corps member. In 2006, he joined a West Philadelphia non-profit organization, AchieveAbility, planning academic programs for low income single parent families. In 2008, he helped to facilitate the closing of 23 DC public schools as a member of Chancellor Michelle Rhee’s School Opening and Transitions team. Most recently, Roy worked with the Big 8 Texas school districts to document their use of data to measure and drive student achievement. |
