Step 3: Gathering Feedback on Initial Plan feedback on initial plan

Before moving forward with the planning process your team will need to gather feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders on the decisions you have made so far. Share the preliminary plan you have developed for ESE with faculty, union leadership, and others.  At this juncture, it would make sense to create a presentation that explains:

  1. The vision for ELT and key priorities
  2. Rationale for ELT (conclusions from needs assessment)
  3. What the day would look like for teachers and students (sample teacher schedules including new PD and CPT and student schedules with new educational opportunities)

See sample PowerPoint presentation on ELT. Hold focus groups (see sample focus group questions) and meetings with parents, teachers, union representatives, and students to get feedback. Also consider presenting at school council meetings, to district leadership, and to the school committee. For more on communicating about ELT see next section, “Building School and Community Support.”
