Massachusetts 2020 Foundation has partnered with five United Way organizations across the state in a campaign to increase public commitment to and expand children's after-school opportunities.
This campaign, called Keeping Kids on Track seeks to ensure that all children have safe, productive learning and enrichment opportunities during out-of-school hours.
The campaign's goals are threefold (1) to elevate out-of-school time to a top civic priority; (2) to leverage public and private resources to support children's and families' out-of-school needs, and (3) to organize civic and political leaders in a targeted number of communities in order to expand quality after-school and summer programming.
Toward these goals, Massachusetts 2020 Foundation and its United Way partners are organizing: (1) a focused media campaign in partnership with WCVB Channel 5 (ABC) to highlight the out-of-school needs of children and build public support and (2) a local action effort to develop community-specific strategies that will dramatically expand the opportunities available to children during out-of-school hours.
